About Us

Uza. Mariyam Shamma Ismail attained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West of England, in 2004. Prior to her appointment as the Consumer Ombudsman she served as a Legal Consultant at the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade.

She had earlier filled the post of Director of Legal and Policy Affairs at the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and previously served as the Registrar of the Supreme Court. Uza. Mariyam Shamma Ismail was appointed to the post of Consumer Ombudsman on 31st August 2021.
